My three penguin babies have flown the coop! They have found a better home. :(
They are ami penguins. A gift to me from Japan. Difficult to make because of their size and so many tiny parts. >O<
I'll miss them!
Just as I was packing the trio a replacement tiny ami bird came my way to void my loss.
hello cute birdie.

A fancy title for a work-in-progress, Tweetle dee Tweetle dove is about a bright colorful group of birds. They're shaped sort of like doves and more colorful. Just getting started on the first one using some leftover bright yellow cotton from my first nursery mobile. Who knows, maybe it'll become a nursery mobile.

Ami Bird: Part by Part

I started calling amigurumi 'ami ami pets' after I found a book with 'ami ami' in the title (it's easier to say too). Amigurumi means knitted or crocheted stuffed toy in Japanese. It's considered an art. The real deal about ami ami is this - making amigurumi takes a lot of parts that you have to put together yourself. Have patience with yourself. Don't give up. I read another blog that said making ami was fun up until she realized that they had to put all the parts together. She immediately gave up! Don't give up; it gets easier with practice.
