My first attempt at amigurumi was just one year ago.  I used crochet thread. Boy, did that look weird. lol (the yellow cupcake in photo 2). I did not have the appropriate supplies. After trying a thicker yarn and substituting a few other supplies I was still very dissatisfied with the results! Working with a cupcake pattern it looked nothing like the model! Lesson>>> Using the necessary supplies is necessary to obtain the best results for amigurumi. I'll keep moving forward anyway. ugh
