For years I have sought after a doll tag idea for my dolls. It seems silly or maybe trivial, I know. But what if I'm not alone in my search. One of my previous methods was to make a belly belt from paper and glue a tag to it. Nowadays I make a mini card and dangle it from the doll by yarn. A tag just adds a little special something to the presentation and conveys the sentiment of handmade love, imo. I wanted to share this new method.
Here are the supplies I use:
- A blank 4"x5.5"kraft card (cut in half) or printer paper
- A piece of yarn or string
- Scissors
- A printer
- A .jpg file (made on canva.com)
- Software to view and print a .jpg file
- Hole puncher (optional)
You can make one without much expertise. Sample tags are available.
Check out my Sticker Cafe for the sample download in color or the b/w version. The house shape tag is about 1.5" and the square tage is about 2.5" but it has to be personalized with text. Size can be adjusted by trial and error through your photo viewer. I have been using Windows Photo Gallery for printing to a card or on paper. I tightly tie yarn around the spine of the tag using a knot. Let me know if you would like more information.
