The latest update since June, in the heat of July (tv collection version ):
Remake of Sid Science 2023/2025
Remake of Sid Science: Since the (Tablet) Crash of '23 my Sid crochet pattern has been missing. Two years ago I finished that pattern. Sid was cute then. But now I will have to try again. So far his face shape and features are getting a drastic update. How is it?
Have you ever asked God for something new to do only to find that it was hidden inside your dwelling place? How, I believe, God answered my prayer was to show me the obscure (hidden thing). Recently, after making that prayer request something happened. The thing is that I really have been losing a lot, in terms of requests, orders and ideas. I believe this en masse loss came about to create a vacuum on the inside that at first seemed like worry and doubt over what I would be doing next.
How Prayer & Faith Work Together
Here is the faith portion. I have had a desire for years to immerse myself in a certain mouse friends project, but had neither the time nor materials on hand (motivation was quite low as well). I designed a satisfactory crochet pattern since the onset of that desire. Over the years I had desperately searched to find the yarn brand with the right colors and size. I called it my orphan mouse project. Sadly, I had given up without immediate results in order to bury the feelings of frustration.
Here is the prayer portion. After asking God for help with something new I came to find one day that the colors were all gathered among my very small stash that had shrunk over the years (most were from Joann Fabrics by Bernat cotton blends). My blindness was removed. To some it may seem too minor a thing for God to answer in this way. But to me it was the orchestration and timing of how I came to see what had been prepared and waiting for such a time. To me, my life does not revolve around my craft but my relationship is with God It is what He wanted me to see that I now see how He cares about my losses and my desires..I hope that my losses mean death to something passed and life to something desired and new.

Collaboration 25 Continued: Bingo Request & Motivation In A Very Dull Season
More blessings people! It is the beginning of Part 2 of 'The first new collab of the year 25' Making Bluey at the request of another has added fuel to the fire when I was running low on it. Conversations with my collaborator have served as much needed teamwork to keep me inspired and productive. Even showing progress adds a boost to my morale. Working with and for others is also fulfilling and rewarding. Wealth is not in what you possess apart from being able to share it with others. If what you possess is not shared with others it is not really wealth after all. It is merely possessions.
Handmade doll box for Handmade dolls
Time for the next custom fit doll box. Since Rosie is a bit shorter than Jodi, let's just use the same draft template and adjust the box height. Add random embellishments for flare this time around. It is going to still look handmade. Rosie likes it!
Crafting A Custom Doll Box Draft For Jodi
Using a small box found in Walmart as a model, watch me get started making a custom doll box draft. (I stumbled upon the brown box, as seen in the photo as my eyes were led to this much needed shape of box; so I am considering it my blessing in disguise. When I got home the dimensions fit the Jodi doll so well.)
Note that this craft is new to me and as a beginner much skill is to be desired. I will be using black poster board to draft this doll box. The plan is to make 3 contiguous walls, like the Walmart version, and add a 4th side which will serve as a frame rather than a wall. To complete the design a top and bottom will be added to serve as flap closures.
In this series of short blog posts here is post#2 about finishing up Bluey and moving on to the next request. The latest, the best add-on request is for Grannies Blanket for Bluey. But first take a look at the finished work so far.
More blessings people! The first new collab of the year 25 will serve as my creative motivation for February. What does this mean? Sometimes creating from the ideas of another, rather than from scratch, can add fuel to the fire when you are running low on it. Conversation with your collaborator can serve as teamwork to keep you inspired and productive. Even showing progress adds a boost to your morale. Working with and for others is also fulfilling and rewarding. Wealth is not in what you possess apart from being able to share it with others. If what you possess is not shared with others it is not really wealth after all. It is merely possessions.
It is a blessing to share with others even in your loss. A few years ago, a dear mom shared her loss with me in the form of a request for Grandpere Tiger. The doll was for her daughter. It was sad yet it seemed a creative way to help a child remember someone at such a young age. It was memorable for me as well. I had in the past completed a yorkshire dog request from a daughter for her mom's lost dog, but never for a grandpa. It probably makes no sense, but I call it a Gem of Requests as it keeps attracting customers while reminding my heart of my dear customer.
The most recent version is a Honey I Shrunk Grandpere version with its own set of challenges as I tried working from the original pattern without the original supplies, But that story is for another post.
