Merino Glossy Yarn: A Beginner's Yarn Review

by - 4:44 PM

It's funny how I did not have to take a plane trip to Turkey to get this yarn!  On the contrary, my yarn took a trip to get to me.  This is my first review of Merino Glossy Yarn (a wool blend yarn from Istanbul, Turkey) that I ordered to make amigurumi dogs.

Toy Poodle

The color and texture are so beautiful! I can not find a yarn of this type in any local stores!  I was so allured by its camel color and furriness for one of my amigurumi dogs - a toy poodle.  On the other hand, I won't say that it was easy to use to make amigurumi parts (not quite firm enough).  This may not be a yarn for a beginner.  Also it is a #3 DK yarn which is a finer yarn.  Perhaps I needed a heavier yarn for better amigurumi results.  I am still going to use it up. I'm in the middle of using it to make amigurumi bears!  I won't give up.  I'll keep learning and taking my amigurumi journey to wonderful places.  I'm so thankful for this experience.
